Projects

Here are some photos showcasing the donations we’ve done—shampoo bottles, cozy blankets, and nourishing meals. Each contribution helps make a meaningful difference, bringing comfort and support to those in need

Our First Donation!

Our first donation from Box a Month was a milestone moment. We gathered canned food and delivered it to Harbor House, a local organization that supports people in need. It was the first time I fully grasped the power of giving back to the community. Seeing how something as basic as canned food could make such a meaningful difference opened my eyes to the impact we could have if we continued this work. That day, I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and joy, knowing we had started something that could truly change lives and bring hope to others.

Holiday Cookies

On December 26, 2023, a group of high school and middle school volunteers banded together to spread holiday cheer by donating around 60 beautifully decorated cookie bags to families in need through our local food bank. Each cookie bag was crafted with special care, featuring an assortment of delicious cookies all accompanied by festive designs, reflecting the spirit of the season. Additionally, each bag contained a small note to further this goal of spreading that holiday cheer. Our primary goal was to support those facing food insecurity during the holidays, constantly reminding them that they are not alone. This initiative not only brought smiles to the recipients but also created a sense of community and teamwork among the volunteers ranging from ages 8 to 16 , placing an emphasis on the importance of being kind at all times and giving back during this special time of the year. Through our team’s hard work and creativity, we strived to make an impact that is meaningful in our community, one chocolate chip cookie at a time.

Packed Lunches

We’re excited to announce that our team recently had the opportunity to give back by donating 20 nutritious lunches to the local food bank. Each meal was carefully packed with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a fresh apple, chips, and a comforting sweet treat of cookies and bars, offering both nourishment and a bit of comfort to those facing hardship. We recognize that providing a meal means more than just feeding someone—it’s about showing care and creating a sense of connection, especially during difficult times. By supporting the food bank, we hope to ease some of the stress for families and individuals experiencing food insecurity. This donation is just one step in our ongoing commitment to helping our community, and we truly believe in the power of collective kindness to make a positive impact. Together, we’re working toward a healthier, more compassionate future for everyone!

Blankets

This past winter, my organization had the opportunity to donate 30 blankets to the Los Angeles Rescue Mission in Skid Row. It was an amazing experience that I won’t forget. We went on a cold December morning, knowing that people living on the streets would need warmth more than ever. Skid Row is known for having one of the largest homeless populations in the country, and seeing it firsthand was eye-opening. When we handed the blankets to the Rescue Mission staff and saw the people who would benefit from them, it made me feel good knowing we could make a small difference in their lives. Seeing their smiles and knowing that they would be a little warmer because of us made me happy. The Rescue Mission does so much for people in need, and I’m really glad we could be a part of that by helping them help others. It reminded me how important it is to give back to our community, especially to those who need it the most.

Hygiene Products

.We recently had the opportunity to donate 40 bottles of shampoo and conditioner to the San Fernando Valley Resource Bank, an organization that helps provide essential products to those who cannot afford them. Items like shampoo and conditioner are often taken for granted, but they play a significant role in maintaining personal hygiene, boosting self-confidence, and preserving dignity. Unfortunately, many people experiencing financial hardship lack access to these basic necessities. By donating, we aim to support the Resource Bank’s mission to ensure these products reach the individuals and families who need them most. We hope that our contribution will not only help them stay clean but also empower them to feel better about themselves and face their daily challenges with newfound confidence. It’s our small way of giving back and showing that even everyday items can have a big impact on someone’s life.

School Supplies

At the start of this school year, we were excited to donate 600 school supply kits to students in the PVUSD school district, each containing two pencils, a pen, crayons, a ruler, a glue stick, and an eraser. As we handed out the kits, it was impossible not to feel a sense of pride and fulfillment, knowing that these basic supplies could make a huge difference in a child’s school experience. We understand that not all families can afford the necessary materials, and we wanted to ensure that every student felt ready and confident for the new school year. Seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing we were helping lift some of the financial burden off their families was incredibly rewarding. This donation was more than just pencils and paper—it was about giving students the tools to succeed and making sure they feel supported by their community. Through this experience, we felt the power of small actions and how much they can uplift and empower those around us.
